He completed his postgraduate training at St. Stephen’s Hospital, Delhi (awarded the best postgraduate centre for D.N.B. in Surgery) under the aegis of the National Board of Examinations.
Senior Consultant and H.O.D - Minimal Access, GI And Metabolic SurgeryDr. Arnab went to medical school at the prestigious Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore. While there, he received distinctions and certificates of honour in various subjects. He completed his postgraduate training at St. Stephen’s Hospital, Delhi (awarded the best postgraduate centre for D.N.B. in Surgery) under the aegis of the National Board of Examinations. He received further training in the field of Minimal Access, complex Hepatopancreatobiliary and Gastrointestinal Oncology under the able guidance of pioneers in the field. He then returned to Vellore to acquire expertise in the fields of Endocrine Surgery and Breast Oncosurgery.
He thereafter developed the Department of Minimal Access Surgery at his Alma Mater, and went on to be awarded the much‐coveted Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, during which time, he was also the recipient of the J.S.C.F.E. Medal, awarded to the candidate with the highest marks in the final examination, on the first attempt. He is currently an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has received further certification from the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India as well.
He is an enthusiastic teacher in his discipline and has authored several articles in peer‐ reviewed and indexed National and International Journals. He has guided many a
postgraduate student during his time at St. Stephen’s Hospital, towards the successful acceptance of their dissertations. He has over 16 years of cumulative experience in the nuances of the surgical discipline and speaks six languages fluently.
