Prof Dr SK Chhabra is Head, Department of Pulmonary, Sleep and Critical Care Medicine at Primus Hospital, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. Prof Chhabra is Former Director-Professor, Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, Delhi, an internationally acclaimed and well-known Institution for chest diseases. He was associated with the Institute for more than three decades after obtaining his postgraduate qualification from the same Institute. He was incharge of the Intensive Care Unit and in-patient services and the Pulmonary Function laboratory of the Institute. A physician of great repute and a highly respected teacher.

Dr Chhabra has been active in several areas of research, both basic and applied, in the discipline of Pulmonary Medicine and allied sciences. His research and clinical interests include asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease, interstitial lung diseases like sarcoidosis and interstitial fibrosis, lung infections, pulmonary function and health effects of air pollution. He is one of the top names in India and internationally in asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease and other chest diseases, and in lung function testing.
